Macro to Highlight PVdC Extrusion at Brasilplast 2011
Canadian film and sheet extrusion systems manufacturer, Macro Engineering & Technology Inc., will showcase its machine technology for barrier film markets at Brasilplast with a focus on PVdC technology.
Macro’s R&D team mastered the technology to process PVdC 20 years ago and the company now has a range of PVdC processing options to suit a variety of high barrier food packaging applications. On the blown film side, Macro offers its BXL Series 7-layer blown film line with PVdC encapsulation to make 7 or 9 layer structures containing PVdC. Also on the blown side is Macro’s monolayer PVdC biaxially oriented blown film line with a horizontal orientation for the production of shrinkable sausage casing films and non-shrinkable film for lamination. Macro’s PVdC blown film offering is rounded off with the company’s DXL Series of double-bubble lines, which are used to create biaxially oriented 5 or 7 layer shrink films with PVdC.
On the cast film side, Macro offers its CXL Series 7-layer cast film line with encapsulated PVdC, which like the BXL Series, creates multilayered structures for a variety of food packaging applications. Finally, PVdC extrusion coating systems are available for a variety of substrates, thickness and widths.
Aside from its PVdC technology, Macro staff will also be available to discuss all its extrusion systems including those for sheet lines, and specialty blown and cast systems. Macro will be located in the booth represented by Intermarketing Brasil in Stand # I82/J81.
