Macro Opens Company in Italy

Canadian film and sheet extrusion systems manufacturer Macro Engineering & Technology Inc. announced today the opening of a new company near Milan, Italy under the name Macro Engineering & Technology S.r.l.

Macro's new Italian branch was established to increase their sales and service resources to European and Middle Eastern markets. Italy was selected as the site for Macro’s European branch because of its central proximity to the company’s European customer base and the area’s well established network of suppliers and human resources. 

Macro had considered a number of alternatives to accelerate their plan to start a European operation including the acquisition of an Italian machinery manufacturer. Negotiations in the acquisition broke down as a result of administrative obstacles and the establishment of Macro S.r.l. was deemed to be the more favourable option. 

One of Macro’s first moves was the hiring of Franco Capetti who had been the Technical Director of Tecno Coating Engineering S.r.l. for the past 13 years. Mr. Capetti’s role at Macro will be to provide technical know-how and to guide the company through the development of the Italian operation. 

Macro is currently working to staff its Italian branch and plans to have Macro S.r.l. fully operational this October. The company is encouraging interested candidates to visit Macro’s website (www.macroeng.com) to apply for a position.
